Swedish cabbage salad

Pizza salad that works as a condiment for other dishes also.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 small cabbage
  • cup white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar. 60ml.
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Instructions
 

  • Shred the cabbage into slices with a knife, mandolin, or cheese slicer. Some food processors also have slicing options.
  • Add in the rest of the ingredients.
  • Beat the cabbage with a wooden pestle with spices and vinegar. The cabbage will become moist, and no oil is needed. Or let it rest for at least 30 minutes, preferably more, before serving so that it moistens by itself.

Notes

Other ingredients you can add are sliced bell pepper, shallot, or garlic.
Maple syrup can be replaced with 1 teaspoon sugar or other syrup.
Dried basil or other herbs can be experimented with.
